Dahlia Hill

Midland, Michigan is becoming one of my favorite places to photograph. The intersection of science and design is evident in the landscape and architecture of the city. I forgot who it was that told me about this particular spot called Dahlia Hill, but it is very special. This is a flower park situated right behind the Dow Gardens. It has thousands of dahlia plants in tiers up the side of the hill. It is a beautiful place to visit and photograph. These intricate flowers have become my favorite. I love how varied they are, and how they last well into the Autumn. I took these photos at Dahlia Hill in August of 2013. Enjoy.
