John King Books
On Halloween I had the day off so my best friend and I did what we loved to do, visit a bookstore. The king of them all is John King Books in Detroit. It is four stories of used books in every genre and topic anyone could ask or look for. The hand written sign and attentive staff make this place so special. In a world of shiny isles at discount stores, or super fast internet shopping, a this place brings you back to earth, to feeling, to exploring, to reading.
Super Day and Night
On Sunday September 27 there was a special lunar eclipse of a “super” blood moon. During the day I was out scouting locations for a wedding photo shoot, and at night I was home enjoying the warm night a lunar eclipse from the back yard. Here are a few of the photos that I took that day and that night.
DAY
NIGHT
When I photographed the lunar eclipse I did not have a great lens on me nor a great tripod, so I hand-held my camera, and as a result got some really ghostly effects. I like strange accidents like this. It think the images are super weird, and kind of wormy

My photo is titled Koi Pond, and is a selection from my collection of photographs from the Belle Isle Conservatory. I am very pleased and honored to be selected for this fantastic show.
A review of the show is below:

I have been rediscovering my love for my Canon 20D lately. I have had it since 2005 and it has been reliable at producing beautiful and crisp images.I actually think I like it more than my 7D. Its only downfall is the grain in low light situations. I don’t even mind the tiny playback screen. […]
Hipster Detroit
Sometimes moments catch my eye. I love the colors. I love his hand position. I love how he is sitting off to the side, and that he is facing away from the camera.
